There was no surprise that today's 210km stage would be a hard one. Not only was it the length of the stage and the added amount of climbing that made it harder, but also due to the relatively "comfortable" stages the Critérium du Daphiné have had to offer until today. It took almost 100km of full on attacking for the breakaway to get away, as finally one lonely rider was allowed to become today's breakaway. After being given a 10 minute lead, the bunch again charged full speed ahead, bringing down the gap to just about a minute as we entered the final climb of the day. I was not brilliant today, but I feel I'm getting some good workouts which will hopefully pay off in my coming races. Now it's time to rest and eat until tomorrows probably equally hard stage.
All the recovery one needs! This is where I am right now - in bed, and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else! :)
Tomorrows equally hard stage looks like this...
