I am not the kind of person who saves a lot of stuff. I have acctually become really good at getting rid of things. However, some things should be saved....
My first international victory in 1998.
This old jersey I got in Plymouth, England when I won the Junior World Cup in 1998. My first international victory.
Athens Olympics bike
This is my 2004 Olympics bike. I still have it and every now and then I look at it. It is unfortunately not complete, but the electric fork worked when I tried it the other day. I actually also have the frame left which I was supposed to ride the 2006 World championships in Rotura on when I won the bronze medal. I guess now I can revile that I was so eager to save weight that I took some material off the frame and when training on the course the day before the world championships it cracked... My mechanic had to work all night to get a new bike built up for the race the day after. Thanks Daniel!
At the World Cup race in Mont Saint Anne in 2005, I went out on the final lap in second position. I had never been top three at a World Cup before and if I was excited, my Sports Director Markus was even more excited... So he cheered for me and said "- Friedl, if you keep your second position until the end of the race I'll buy you a minicross...." I kept my second position in the race and I have kept my minicross since then :)
