Yesterday evening I got I got a call from the team informing me that I will do the Amstel Gold Race this Sunday. It's one of those things you always have to be prepared of, as in this case, that someone else gets sick or injured and you're the one to fill that riders spot in the coming race. I did this race two years ago, and I felt it was somewhat too long and tactical for me. But, I'm happy the team shows faith in me, and I hope to be an asset to the team in whichever way they request it. Tomorrow morning I fly up to Brussels to join the team and I'll stay up there all next week during the following races as well. Getting out of Monaco will actually be a relief, as it's been swamped with tennis (Rolex Masters), volleyball (Women's world cup) and car (www.topmarquesmonaco.com ) fans.
I'll take two please...
