As I started yesterdays 215km stage, I more or less knew I was not going to be able to fininsh the stage. Already after the time-trial the day before I felt my body temperature rising and that bad taste in my mouth I get just before I get ill. I was hoping it would go away until the next morning, but it didn't. So after 175km in the rain I decided it was better to pull out and focus on recovering for the coming races. Of course it's dissapointing. On the good side, my team mate Remy won the stage, the first victory of the year for Astana! Now I will recover a few days and then get back to preparing for the coming races.
