Today’s second stage of the Paris-Nice was longer, 199km compared with yesterdays 155km. Again, as expected, there were a lot of crashes, and I was close myself going down a few times. The roads are very open in this area of France, with nothing but fields around us. This, together with the cold, strong winds, make the whole peleton go from left to right depending on which direction the winds are coming from. The further south we come the more shelter in form of trees and mountains there will be, hopefully settling things down a bit. My legs were better today, but there are still a few days to go before we hit some real climbing or demanding time-trialing, thus getting a real test of my condition.
Again, not a very exciting photo, but an understanding of how many people there are at the start and finish of each stage. These are the people standing outside our bus, but there are 21 other teams here, with equal amounts of people standing outside their buses.
